This article addresses the last stage of the work of the Spanish-Mexican Marxist Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez, demonstrating that as the teleological matrix of his theorical proposal weakens, his attention to the normative dimension of marxism intensifies. Starting from exposing the crisis of the obstetric conception of politics in marxism, we analyze the way in which, in a context marked by the advance of postmodern postulates, Sánchez Vázquez’s reflections are reoriented towards moral and political philosophy. This turn of his production has repercussions on his understanding of marxism, so that its rescue as a moral idea (as truth) becomes the axis of the late work of Sánchez Vázquez.
