Abstract

SIERRA, Sigfrido  and  CIFUENTES, Joaquín. First record of genus Cerinomyces (Fungi: Dacrymycetales) in Mexico. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2009, vol.80, n.3, pp.853-855. ISSN 2007-8706.

For the first time for Mexican mycobiota the genus Cerinomyces Mar. is reported with the species C. lagerheimii (Pat.) McNabb. This species only have been found in Ecuador (type locality), Brasil, United States and Venezuela. A review of different specimens was made into the species and type specimens of other species belonging to the genus. Taxonomic studies in fungi are very important due to scarce knowledge in world and plus in tropical zones.

Keywords : biological diversity; taxonomy; mycobiota; Neotropic; jelly fungi.
