Abstract

Castopetra sp. is reported for the first time associated to Harpalyce arborescens at a timber tree species of high commercial value of the tropical deciduous forest in Tamaulipas state. The records of the genus are restricted to 2 locations in 3 sites: San Vicente and González, municipality of Casas in the southeast of the Sierra de Tamaulipas (23°25'35.76" N, 98°38'56.86" W; 382 m and 23°21'35.75" N, 98°38'21.06" W; 455 m), and the ejido Morelos municipality of Llera in the middle of the same range (23°27'27.37" N, 99°05'09.41" W; 546 m).
