Abstract

BOTELLO, Francisco et al. Noteworthy records of southern spotted skunk (Spilogale angustifrons) and jaguarundi (Puma yagouaroundi) at the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve, Oaxaca, Mexico. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2013, vol.84, n.2, pp.713-717. ISSN 2007-8706.  https://doi.org/10.7550/rmb.28873.

As result of a project of participatory monitoring of mammals in the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve (RBTC), the first jaguarundi (Puma yagouaroundi) and spotted skunk (Spilogale angustifrons) records for the protected area. These records are evidence of the presence of 4 of the 6 cats in the RBTC and the 3 species of skunks that might be expected for its general distribution in the reserve.

Keywords : distribution; carnivore; participatory monitoring; camera traps.
