Abstract

FERNANDEZ GUZMAN, Eduardo. Revisión bibliográfica sobre la migración de retorno. Norteamérica [online]. 2011, vol.6, n.1, pp.35-68. ISSN 2448-7228.

Research on return migration is recent -only a half a century old- and has been given less attention than migration studies as a whole. However, some outstanding theoretical and empirical work and historical, anthropological, sociological, demographic, economic, and political analysis has been done, with either a qualitative or quantitative focus or more emphasis on either the theoretical or the empirical. This article reviews the bibliography about return migration worldwide and in Mexico, with the aim of awakening interest in the topic and suggesting new lines of research for this migration sub-specialty, a field which, it should be mentioned, has been little researched in Mexico and in which a great deal can be discovered.

Keywords : return migration; international migration; bibliography about return migration.
