Abstract

GANDINI, Luciana. Explanations of Highly Skilled Migration: The Role of Women Seen from The North American Experience. Stereotypes, Biases, and Challenges. Norteamérica [online]. 2019, vol.14, n.1, pp.369-390.  Epub June 30, 2020. ISSN 2448-7228.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cisan.24487228e.2019.1.371.

The explanations of qualified migrations have followed their own road, relatively divorced from the theoretical explanations of migration in general, without having established a close dialogue, reproducing and discussing insufficiently categories, concepts, and suppositions that replicate gender stereotypes. Based on the revision of empirical evidence taken from the migration of qualified individuals in North America, particularly between Mexico and the United States, the author proposes to take into account the elements that support her premise.

Keywords : highly skilled migration; gender; theoretical explanations; concepts.
