This paper focuses on the main characteristics of international cooperation received by Paraguay in the period 1954-2018. For this purpose a combination of bibliographical-documentary and field research was used, on a descriptive level. It also combines the analytical and synthetic methods. As a result of this work, it can be affirmed that the international cooperation received by Paraguay has diferents ways. It is varied according to the years, while depending on the international context. Likewise, it has had a significant relative importance in past decades, but has declined over time. The international cooperation received by Paraguay comes from bilateral and multilateral donors.
