Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the social movement which rose against the construction of the airport in San Salvador Atenco in 2001 and 2002. It is the first movement that Vicente Fox is confronted with during his period as president. We examine the resources used by the movement, including the use of violence and the consequences that it had for the presidential image; theory of mobilization of resources is used to be able to in front of observe the used forms of manifestation the State.
