Abstract

SALAZAR ADAMS, Alejandro  and  PINEDA PABLOS, Nicolás. Factores que afectan la demanda de agua para uso doméstico en México. Región y sociedad [online]. 2010, vol.22, n.49, pp.3-16. ISSN 2448-4849.

A function for residential water demand in Mexico was estimated with data from a sample of cities. Price and income elasticities were estimated to be -0.33 and 0.2 respectively. These and other factors associated to the demand for water are significant and therefore must be taken into account for planning and management of water services in Mexico.

Keywords : elasticity of water demand; instrumental variables; panel data.
