Abstract
BECERRIL TORRES, Osvaldo U.; DIAZ CARRENO, Miguel Ángel and DEL MORAL BARRERA, Laura E.. Frontera tecnológica y productividad total de los factores de las regiones de México. Región y sociedad [online]. 2013, vol.25, n.57, pp.5-26. ISSN 2448-4849.
This research aims to determine the technological frontier and total factor productivity (TFP) of Mexico's socioeconomic regions, as well as their composition in terms of technical change and efficiency change, using Data Envelopment Analysis and the Malmquist index. The results show that technical change is more important to the composition of TFP in the country's regions, and that efficiency change does not contribute significantly, so there is greater opportunity to improve the use of productive factors to achieve a regional approach to the technological frontier. Furthermore, the change in intertemporal productivity oscillates and is influenced to a greater degree by technical change.
