Abstract

This article analyzes the evolution of financial oversight legislation in Jalisco, Mexico, from 2000-2009. The referents used were federal legislation from the same period and the national context regarding accountability. The research objective was to assess if Jalisco's legislative reforms enhanced the improvement of the accountability structure and system. The conclusions point out the advances detected, as well as the setbacks and risk areas in the control of public resources.
