Abstract

ROMAN SANCHEZ, Yuliana Gabriela. Impactos sociodemográficos y económicos en la precariedad laboral de los jóvenes en México. Región y sociedad [online]. 2013, vol.25, n.58, pp.165-202. ISSN 2448-4849.

Job insecurity is not confined to one country, economic sector, region or group of people. Evidence suggests that workers are impacted differentially, with young people being the most vulnerable. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to identify the effect of socio-demographic factors and labor market characteristics on different levels of job insecurity among young wage earners, including variables such as age, sex, education level, economic sector, and establishment size and occupation, through an estimation of an ordinal logistic regression model, with data obtained from the National Occupation and Employment Survey during the first trimesters of 2005 and 2010.

Keywords : labor market; job insecurity; precarious employment; working conditions; young wage earners; ordinal logistic regression model.
