In recent years, different experiences with participatory budgeting have been carried out in metropolitan Buenos Aires. This article seeks to examine their scope and impact considering a number of key dimensions: scale of resources and participation; specific forms of participation; key methodologies; stages and duration of the process; dissemination, information and visibility of the instrument; inclusion of the population in the process of participatory budgeting; project selection; execution levels; degree of institutionalization and its impacts on local public administration. Thus, it seeks to reflect on the policy's highlights and shadows and its current results in the region.
