Abstract

JURADO MONTELONGO, Mario Alberto. La situación, evolución y composición de las familias vulnerables y su socialización primaria en Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Región y sociedad [online]. 2016, vol.28, n.65, pp.81-108. ISSN 2448-4849.

This article attempts to present the challenges faced by different social actors in socializing children and adolescents in a border city like Matamoros, taking into account the situation, evolution and composition of the families living in this city. We analyzed, from the point of view of the interviewees, the effects generated within family contexts where the father is absent, family roles are restructured, and other family members taking on the absent father's responsibilities; where both spouses work outside the home; or where families have a single parent. The impact of socializing agents is weak, since it is contextualized by local socioeconomic conditions that make it impossible for the family to carry out the socialization function on its own.

Keywords : family types; socialization; economic crisis.
