This article seeks to analyze the relationship between environmental vulnerability and mortality associated to environmental conditions in the population of municipalities in the states of Campeche, Chiapas and Tabasco, which are part of the Usumacinta River basin. We used a spatial correlation model that allowed us to observe the relationship between the index of environmental vulnerability and the mortality rate associated to environmental conditions in 2016. The relation of these two variables lets us recognize the effects of climate change on health (SSA/INEGI). We identified a cluster of municipalities with a high record of mortality causes that are correlated with a high environmentally vulnerable population.
