Abstract

This document reviews the findings of a research about the dissertations written by teachers in order to receive their BA obtain the title in the Bachelor´s degree in Preschool and Elementary Education for the Indigenous Context at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional [National University of Education Sciences] in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas. The study was made from a sociocultural, gender perspective, and conceptual discourse analysis aimed at examining the concepts and notions used in 708 theses from 2011 to 2021. The analytical framework include curricular and identity-related issues in which cultural concerns and concepts about identity, community knowledge, and sexuality-gender are observed. The cultural contributions that teachers reflect in their writings drawn from their worldviews constitute valuable contributions to the design of training and professionalization curricula and programs of study for the indigenous context.
