ABSTRACT: With this research, the author approaches the study of social representations based on the axioms Moscovicianos, which is positioned to focus their study of procedural understanding it from different mediations. Indeed, the purpose of the research was to track how social representations constructed university students work with career mobility, seeing the settings in two planes representational symbolic and socio socio structural labor practice displayed by these young people for the world of work becomes your senses and symbolism regarding work as a social and everyday. Thus, we conclude that the intrinsic appreciation of the work these young people possess is seen as a tool, a means capable of satisfying multiple purposes. The methodical was handled from the qualitative dialectic hermeneutic approach, for which techniques were used dialogic as in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. In- depth interviews were made to 11 young students from the School of Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Carabobo Campus La Morita, designed based on an interview script whose topics were: the perception of work, work centrality social and labor representation. Outcomes and research challenges thrown as instrumental vision symbolism remained a relative centrality of work in the lives of these young people despite the precarious and difficult situations sur-rounding youth work. The work is seen as a duty, as a social right, as a way to meet individual consumption, is taken as the path to economic independence, personal growth, as a way of life
