Abstract

HERNANDEZ PULIDO, J. Ricardo. Social justice from a new perspective on justice. Study of the International Labor Organizatin's mandate according to the modern concept of justice. Rev. latinoam. derecho soc [online]. 2015, n.21, pp.85-120. ISSN 2448-7899.

The present article seeks to analize the subject of social justice under a new scope. I plan to address said subject, firstly (II. From theory to practice) by presenting some of Sen's studies, in particular those presented in his work The Idea of Justice, conclusions that are more in tune with our objective. However, since a considerable portion of Sen's treaty is focused on analizing Rawl's suggestions, it seems fitting to present some of his most relevant formulations, expressed in The Theory of Justice as well as his subsecuent boo, Justice as Equality: A Reforumulation (L The theory of justice, according to Rawls). Afterwards, I will refer to Sen's most significant propositions, as according to our interest (2. From the theory of justice to the idea of justice). Secondly (III. International Labor Organization's contribution to the realization of social justice) social justice will be adressed, as viewed by the International Labor Organization's essential mandate and the evolution this concept has had throughout this past century, making the ILO adapt its manner of functioning in order to better face its challenges. Lastly, I will make some final considerations.

Keywords : Justice; theory of justice; social justice; International Labor Organization (ILO); ILO declarations; agreements and labor recommendations; globalization.
