Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to determine if the Latin American countries, which have ratified OIT Convention 169, which is the main international treaty on the human rights of indigenous peoples, have recognized in their local legislation the Social Security as a Human Right, and in that capacity, they have granted coverage and special protection to indigenous peoples.
