Abstract

The purpose of this document is to review, in a summative form, liberalism and conservatism as ideologies that were expressed in projects of modernity subsequent to the French Revolution.

It seeks to understand their influence, both in historical configuration and epistemological conception of public administration, as a social science inherited from the Enlightenment.

It suggests that progressive liberal thought has predominated in the manner of arguing the disciplinary endeavors of the administrative sciences.
