Abstract

TISCHLER VISQUERRA, Sergio  and  GARCIA VELA, Alfonso Galileo. Critical theory and new interpretations on emancipation. Tla-melaua [online]. 2017, vol.11, n.42, pp.186-207. ISSN 2594-0716.

This article aims to discuss the idea of emancipation and its praxis by contemporary Marxist authors such as John Holloway, Theodor Adorno and Walter Benjamin. At the same time, it is important to make reference to The Zapatista Movement, whose idea of emancipation implies an alternative proposal to the classic idea of revolution. Taking into account that there are two theoretical perspectives in the Marxist tradition on revolutionary praxis: The first one whose emphasis I mainly on the party and the seizure of power from the state. The second one focuses on the autonomy of struggles and rejects any form of centralism of the communist party. And that action and not just theory is the way. These perspectives are part of the historical movement of the class struggle. The discussion on emancipation and its praxis presents a controversy between the aforementioned perspectives.

Keywords : Emancipation; negativity; power; theory and praxis.
