Abstract

ALONSO DELGADO, Víctor Lorenzo  and  FERRAZ LORENZO, Manuel. CHILDREN COLONIES ORGANIZED BY THE SPANISH ARMY DURING THE FRANCOIST DICTATORSHIP (1955-1975). A PARTICULAR WAY OF FORGING THE FUTURE PATRIOTIC CITIZENS. Tzintzun. Rev. estud. históricos [online]. 2021, n.73, pp.159-183.  Epub May 21, 2021. ISSN 2007-963X.

The goal of this work is to show how from 1955 on, during the General Francisco Franco’s dictatorship, the children of professional military men enjoyed cultural, educational and sanitary conditions that were out of reach for the rest of the infant population. Among other benefits, there were children school colonies, which were supposed to be a tool for social and academic promotion that emphasized social differences.

Keywords : francoist dictatorship; Spanish army; children colonies; social inequality; corporatism.
