Abstract

GARCIA CORONA, Nely Noemí. 1835: The sixth legislature and the transition to centralism in Michoacán. Tzintzun. Rev. estud. históricos [online]. 2021, n.74, pp.97-126.  Epub Oct 04, 2021. ISSN 2007-963X.

The present article analyzes the debates of Michoacán's Sixth Congress on the transition of the government system toward centralism demanded from several municipalities and towns in the state. The consulted documents show that arguments on the matter took place amidst the division of the legislature itself and under the pressure coming from several town halls and the armed forces that were seeking the Assembly´s pronouncement on favor of adopting centralism.

Keywords : federalism; Legislative Power; system's reforms; Armed Forces; First Centralist Republic.
