Cyclic vomiting syndrome mentioned by Heberden in 1806, described in France by Lombard in 1861. Currently the cyclic vomiting syndrome has been cataloged by the Criteria of Rome IV as a gastroduodenal functional disorder, in which there is interaction with the Central Nervous System; characterized by hyperemesis of paroxysmal presentation, recurrent cyclically, alternating with periods of absence of symptoms, with moderate predilection for the female gender and predominance in childhood with increased reports in adults, accompanied by abdominal pain, is triggered by the stress, infections, menstruation, and some foods. Studies indicate that there is a direct relationship with migraine, it is a diagnostic challenge, requiring frequent hospitalizations, and to perform abdomen exploratory surgery is not uncommon. Because three different patients with cyclic vomiting syndrome arrived to our Institution, we conducted a topic review, reason for this communication.
