Abstract

The September 19 earthquake was the most catastrophic in Mexico within 32 years only surpassed by the earthquake of 1985, the fatalities, and economic losses were of a magnitude not seen before by this generation, our institution being a third hospital level, was two blocks from the most affected area in Mexico City, receiving in the aftermath of the event about 200 patients, however the lack of practical preparation at the national level in terms of emergency medicine in natural disasters, makes us rethink the actions taken the action of the services of our institutions before the arrival of multiple victims, we intend to discuss the medical, administrative and social action from the perspective of a hospital located in the most affected area, comparing our response with the international current protocols.
