MARTINEZ-GUERRERO, José Hugo; PEREDA-SOLIS, Martín Emilio  and  SIERRA-FRANCO, Daniel. First record of partial leucism in the white-fronted goose (Anser albifrons) in Mexico. Huitzil [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.2, pp.228-231. ISSN 1870-7459.  https://doi.org/10.28947/hrmo.2017.18.2.282.

The record of the aberrations in the plumage coloration in birds is important because allow to know the frequency and conditions with which they occur in the wild populations, which improves the knowledge in the subject. We report two specimens of white-fronted goose (Anser albifrons) with partial leucism in Los Alamos, a wetland in Durango municipality, Mexico, 25 km northeast of Durango City. No isolation was observed in the observed individuals, being part of a flock of specimens of the same species with normal coloration, which was an interesting condition of this report. This is the first record of leucism for this species in Mexico.
