Abstract

CESAR, Maria Rita de Assis. Hannah Arendt y la crisis de la educación en el mundo contemporáneo. En-clav. pen [online]. 2007, vol.1, n.2, pp.07-22. ISSN 2594-1100.

In texts like "What is Authority?" and "The Crisis in Education", Hannah Arendt offers important suggestions for critically thinking the contemporary crisis in education. According to her analysis, such crisis is related to psycho-pedagogical approaches that, instead of forming and educating the youth for being active and responsible in the world leave them immersed in a 'childish' process of generalized irresponsibility which overextends itself to adulthood. For Arendt, the crisis in education is also related to the contemporary crisis of authority, which has been disseminated to pre-political areas of daily life such as the educational as well as the parental ones. In order to establish a critical and genealogical approach to the crisis of education, we also welcome some theoretical contributions of Michel Foucault and Gilles Deleuze, which expose certain phenomena that have become hidden behind the false image of a regular and coherent process of educational institutionalization during the 20th century.

Keywords : Arendt; education; crisis; genealogy; psycho-pedagogy.
