Abstract

COMAY, Rebecca. Adorno with sade….Translated byZenia Yébenes Escardó. En-clav. pen [online]. 2022, vol.16, n.32, e557.  Epub Sep 26, 2022. ISSN 2594-1100.  https://doi.org/10.46530/ecdp.v0i32.557.

This article analyzes how Sade's work can be read to illuminate the aporias of enlightened reason and the moral law. Sade has been contemplated as the return of the repressed in Kantian reason (Adorno) or as the unthought secret that animates Kant's entire moral system (Lacan). The article argues that reading Sade with Adorno could mean questioning the vicious circle of the repetition of transgression and law as well as the tedium of an instrumental rationality, in order to open up a new understanding of ontology and history.

Keywords : Law; Nature; Perversion; Repetition; Death Drive.
