Abstract

LAERA, Rodrigo. The Importance of Epistemic Cooperation. En-clav. pen [online]. 2024, vol.18, n.35, e615.  Epub Mar 11, 2024. ISSN 2594-1100.  https://doi.org/10.46530/ecdp.v0i35.615.

The main objective of this paper lies in exposing the virtues of epistemic cooperation, which is essential to legitimately attribute knowledge, both in intuitive contexts and in areas where evidence is required. In the first part, two main lines of understanding what epistemic cooperation consists of will be exposed, to then focus on how it works in contexts of intuitive knowledge attributions. Then, epistemic cooperation in demanding contexts will be reviewed, highlighting its social aspect. Finally, four objections will be presented with their respective answers.

Keywords : Epistemic cooperation; knowledge attributions; social epistemology; contextualism.
