This paper analyzes the domestic tourist knowledge about bacteriological quality of the seawater in the municipalities of San Blas, Compostela and Bahía de Banderas in the Nayarit State. Be timely informed of issuing releases by authorities in environmental and health about the quality of seawater in the main beach destinations, could represent an important tool to plan the offset for the enjoyment of sun and sand destinations, to enter in contact with water for recreation and leisure. Is known, that their poor quality could represent potential damage to the health of those who come into contact with contaminated water, mainly with fecal enterococci. During the year of 2013, 283 tourists were surveyed in the most visited beaches of these municipalities and where takes place the national program of monitoring on the quality of seawater, as well as be considered as clean beaches. Statistical correlation analysis showed important aspects that could be taken into account by the three orders of government and tourism promoters in the region. Finally, the tourist to be informed could avoid any type of disease, where the promotion of clean beaches would represent a greater influx of visitors and the economic benefits to the region.
