Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the administrative processes in technological universities, having as the following research question: How do students conceive managers and administrative processes and how they influence the development of a model based learning competency?, this question gives results do some objectives for this research, which is probing both among managers and students if they recognize any administrative process to support the academic development of students and to identify some of these processes. The research was conducted in two phases, the first was a preliminary study with a qualitative approach, in this phase was investigated simultaneously both the Technological University of San Juan del Rio, Aguascalientes and Tepeji, Hidalgo and the UT of Puebla, seeking to identify the main administrative processes, while a parallel study was conducted at the Technological University of Querétaro, which have as a common factor curricula level. Were used as data collection instruments depth interviews with managers of the universities cited working under the competency model to probe through them acceptance thereof and related administrative processes implemented. In the second phase we worked at the Technological University of Querétaro, specifically using the Engineering Design Research as a Focus Group, applied to students of this university, with the main findings that man-agers do not have a clear idea administrative processes and their relation to the scheme of competency-based education. Based on these findings some administrative processes recognized by both the managers and the students and are the ones that are shown in this study.
