Abstract

Introduction:

This article problematizes and analyzes the habitability of emerging housing for migrant workers in the municipality of Villa de Arista, San Luis Potosí, starting from the premise and evaluation whit a qualitative and quantitative approach from its basic characteristics.

Method:

In the first instance, the phenomenon of migration and emerging housing in the study area is analyzed, in addition to a theoretical review of the corresponding legislative framework, to late focus on habitability as a concept that is closely linked to quality of life, the evaluation of this is based on the “Modelo de indicadores de gestión para la evaluación cuantitativa de habitabilidad y salud en la vivienda de interés social en San Luis Potosí”, and the selection of indicators referring to the physical infrastructure of the house.

Results:

Tables of results and methodological coherence are presented, where, starting from the interpretation of the data collected in the field and the parameters established by different authors, coefficients are obtained that determine the level of “habitability” of the selected unit of analysis.

Conclusion:

The results obtained in each of the evaluated indicators are discussed, in addition to the identification of the main problems of the housing complex. The final result determines whether or not there is “habitability” within the emerging housing with respect to the points evaluated, in addition to the gap between workers and access to their rights.
