Abstract

JIMENEZ CATANO, Rafael. Ambiguities on the Rejection of Truth. Rev. filos.open insight [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.7, pp.227-237. ISSN 2395-8936.

It is well known that postmodern sensitivity holds an ambiguous relationship with truth. In this paper I focus my attention on the ambiguities that Gianni Vattimo manifests about truth's existence and cognoscibility, annotated by the dialogue with René Girard. Two counterpoints are elucidatory. The first comes from non-believing thinkers who in Italy were called "Ratzingerian Marxists" due to their esteem of the anthropological thought of Benedict XVI. The second is the philosophy of truth elaborated by Franca D'Agostini, disciple of Vattimo but not his follower in the weakness of his thought.

Keywords : Charity; Interpretation; Postmodernism; Relativism; Truth.
