Abstract

RIVERA, José-Luis. May there be a "Christian Philosophy"?. Rev. filos.open insight [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.7, pp.251-270. ISSN 2395-8936.

Besides the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council, and the 20th anniversary of the promulgation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Year of the Faith coincided with the 15th anniversary of the publication of the encyclical Fides et ratio. With these events in mind, this paper reviews John Paul II's solution to the problem of "Christian Philosophy", and draws some consequences for to the problematic relationships between faith and reason. This paper takes the form of a traditional quaestio de quodlibet.

Keywords : Belief; Faith; Knowledge; Metaphilosophy; Reason.
