Abstract

GUERRERO SANTELICES, Yuri  and  LAMBERT ORTIZ, César. About the Evidence of Death. Phenomenological Reflections. Rev. filos.open insight [online]. 2020, vol.11, n.23, pp.80-102.  Epub Apr 21, 2023. ISSN 2395-8936.  https://doi.org/10.23924/oi.v11i23.382.

The article focusses on death and its evidence. The approach is phenomenological: it is a descriptive analysis of subjective experience. In the first step, the text explains what phenomenology is, as Husserl determines this concept. Secondly, it studies Max Scheler’s and Martin Heidegger’s ideas about death. As a third point, we approach to the experience of dying, as it is related to the notion of evidence. Finally, the article presents the conclusion: death is experienced in each life as part of it and not merely as an awareness of other persons that have died.

Keywords : death; evidence; intentional experience.
