Abstract

GOMEZ VILLAR, Antonio. Ch. Mouffe: Discontinuities and Theoretical Fissures Behind «Left Populism». Rev. filos.open insight [online]. 2021, vol.12, n.26, pp.111-129.  Epub June 20, 2022. ISSN 2395-8936.  https://doi.org/10.23924/oi.v12i26.456.

Chantal Mouffe, in her latest book For a Left Populism, introduces important theoretical twists, that differ greatly from her old approaches: from those presented in History and Socialist Strategy, written with Ernesto Laclau, to those found in the her following works (The Return of the Political and The Democratic Paradox), as well as the theses presented by Laclau in The Populist Reason. However, in this work of the author, there isn’t any reference to such theoretical reworking. The purpose of this article is to problematize these distances from her previous theorizations.

Keywords : Ch. Mouffe; E. Laclau; left; neoliberalism; populism.
