Abstract

RODRIGUEZ, Pablo Uriel. Determinated Toward Freedom: An Analysis of the Fourth Chapter of S. Kierkegaard’s The Concept of Anxiety. Rev. filos.open insight [online]. 2022, vol.13, n.29, pp.47-75.  Epub May 19, 2023. ISSN 2395-8936.  https://doi.org/10.23924/oi.v13i29.503.

The article analyzes the fourth chapter of The Concept of Anxiety («Anxiety of Sin or Anxiety as the Consequence of Sin in the Single Individual»), published in 1844 by Vigilius Haufniensis. This chapter contains one of the most relevant (and less researched) pages of Kierkegaard’s prolific literary-philosophical work. The main thesis of this text is that the psychological exposition of the «anxiety about the good» (the demonic) reveals the existence of an impulse of freedom in the human being.

Keywords : Anxiety; freedom; Kierkegaard; orientation; psychology.
