Abstract

RAMIREZ-LUNA, Javier et al. MSC-AGL, support system for the development of executive projects of long-throated flumes. Tecnol. cienc. agua [online]. 2010, vol.1, n.3, pp.109-118. ISSN 2007-2422.

This paper presents efforts conducted to obtain the hydraulic design for Reploge flumes. A hydraulic computational system has been coupled to USBR's WinFlume software and was called MSC-AGL (Spanish acronym for Canal Flow Simulation Model-Long- Throated Flume). Some applications have been performed to test the ease of use of the resulting system and at least 100 final projects designed by the program algorithms have been built. The submerged discharge Reploge flume has been avoided by using the complete canal-flume flow modeling in real operation conditions. The hydraulic behavior of the Reploge flume-canal pool system is taken as a final design criterion.

Keywords : Saint-Venant equations; resistance equations; long-throated flume; WinFlume; finite differences.
