Abstract

HERNANDEZ-RODRIGUEZ, María de Lourdes; SANCHEZ-GOMEZ, María de Lourdes  and  VAZQUEZ-VAZQUEZ, José Dionicio. Water and geographical imbalance: water vulnerability study in the Matlalcueye Tlaxcala region. Tecnol. cienc. agua [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.1, pp.107-116. ISSN 2007-2422.

Hydrological vulnerability in the Matlalcueye region (Tlaxcala, Mexico) has been little explored, and the differences in access that characterize it are not evident. Therefore, this study shows how this factor is presented in an apparently homogeneous region where access to water by urban and rural communities depends on the geographic location of the localities, population density and the location of supply sources, all of which are independent from the cultural and ethnic characteristics of the populations.

Keywords : water; distribution; water vulnerability; Matlalcueye.
