Abstract

ORTIZ MACIEL, Demián. Museos, territorio y patrimonio in situ: trabajo de campo en el Centro de Visitantes Schuk Toak y el Ecomuseo Tehuelibampo, Sonora. Intervención (Méx. DF) [online]. 2011, vol.2, n.4, pp.48-55. ISSN 2007-249X.

This article deals with the interaction between museums, territory and in situ heritage, by first reviewing some museological typologies such as open-air museums, ecomuseums and interpretive centres. Attention is drawn to the fact that these kinds of museological operations have comparatively speaking had little application and theorization in Mexico, and the register and analysis of the few exceptions is proposed as a way to overcome this situation. Some research advances are presented regarding two projects located in the state of Sonora: Schuk Toak Visitor Center and other interpretive resources from El Pinacate y El Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve and the Tehuelibampo Ecomuseum. A brief description and analysis is made about the way in which each of these projects deals with the museum-territory-in situ heritage interaction and some preliminary conclusions are presented.

Keywords : Museology; territory; in situ heritage; Tehuelibampo Eco-museum; Schuk Toak Visitor Center.
