Abstract

GARCIA RODRIGUEZ, Liliana. Rape and Guilt of Women. Two Notes on the Representation of the Systematic Murder of Women. Valenciana [online]. 2023, vol.16, n.31, pp.303-335.  Epub Apr 28, 2023. ISSN 2007-2538.  https://doi.org/10.15174/rv.v15i31.703.

This article addresses, from a feminist analysis, two key ideas in the study and subsequent representation of murderous violence against women: rape and victim-blaming. The feminist perspective uncovers a whole new area of understanding by placing itself from the perspective of the victims and questioning some of the most accepted and generalized ideas about the murderers of women. The article is framed in the early findings of criminological research and feminist analysis of Jane Caputi, Susan Brownmiller, Diana Russell and Celia Amorós, as well as in the journalistic investigations of some feminists dedicated to the reporting and study of the cases.

Keywords : Rape; Women’s sense of guilt; Feminist gaze; Woman killers.
