Abstract

VARGAS-DELGADO, Claudia-Priscila  and  AVELLA-ALAMINOS, Isabel. Curriculum of the History degree in the open university system of the UNAM: A historical perspective. Rev. iberoam. educ. super [online]. 2015, vol.6, n.16, pp.68-88. ISSN 2007-2872.

The article contributes historical reflections based on the analysis of the 1979 curriculum of the History degree in the Open University System (SUA) of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature (FFyL) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the first institution countrywide to offer a degree in history under this scheme, with diversified professional training in the area of history. Although institutional documents and pedagogical analysis do exist we lack a historical vision of this model to understand what were the guidelines for the contents of the 1979 curriculum and in how far it has maintained or not its validity as a curriculum model.

Keywords : curricula; curriculum design; history; open university; National Autonomous University of Mexico; open education; teaching of history.
