Abstract

MONFORTE-GARCIA, Gabriela  and  ARREDONDO-TRAPERO, Florina-Guadalupe. Service-learning, a trigger for the ethical reflection of professionals. Rev. iberoam. educ. super [online]. 2021, vol.12, n.34, pp.196-213.  Epub Aug 30, 2021. ISSN 2007-2872.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iisue.20072872e.2021.34.987.

The objective of this research is to show the way in which, for business students, a university subject that is taught by implementing the didactic technique of service-learning succeeds in sensitizing students to ethical reflection. Authors in the field of social responsibility point out the importance of ethical reflection and citizenship behavior in decision-makers, so that they are able to act, out of conviction, in a responsible manner. The case study presented here shows a comparison of undergraduate students in business areas through a control group composed of 126 students and an experimental group composed of 276 students. The comparison was carried out making use of the linear regression technique with internal moderation. The results showed that service-learning has a real impact on the development of ethical reflection competency.

Keywords : teaching methodology; ethical reflection competence; social responsibility.
