Abstract

CARDENAS GOMEZ, Erika Patricia. Migración interna e indígena en México: enfoques y perspectivas. Intersticios sociales [online]. 2014, n.7, pp.1-28. ISSN 2007-4964.

This article aims to draw approaches and perspectives of the domestic migration in Mexico. Initially some migration considerations are made in general and theoretical frameworks used for the analysis of the phenomenon are delineated. Then the text makes a review of bibliographical production about the domestic migration towards the Mexican cities. The exercise is reflective in the theoretical aspects, but tries to outline the trends of new manifestations of domestic migration in the country, as well as to emphasize on its implications in the current context. It was in the 1990 when the qualitative studies noted about some developments in domestic migration in the country, these were: a) that migration has no final destination three Mexican cities, but it has expanded the range of cities; b) increase in the volume of the Indians to the migratory process; c) immigration ceased to be a matter involving only the masculine gender, since it includes women and children; and d) that the inhabitants of big cities also emigrate, either to the medium cities or the United States. By extension issues this work should focus on the work of indigenous migration that has been development.

Keywords : domestic migration; Mexican cities; indigenous.
