Abstract

FABIAN GONZALEZ, Elva Araceli. Investigative journalism its practice and its relationship with political power in democratic systems. Intersticios sociales [online]. 2023, n.25, pp.277-307.  Epub Apr 27, 2023. ISSN 2007-4964.

The study of investigative journalism as a specific type of informative work typical of the field of communication, requires a much broader and deeper theoretical-conceptual review that considers analyzing the phenomenon in the light of other disciplines in the field of Social Sciences, within of which this particular professional practice is produced and reproduced, such as Sociology, Political Science and History. For this reason, this text aims to give an account of this specific practice and its relationship with political power in democratic systems, from an interdisciplinary view that allows to account for the way in which this object has been studied from other latitudes, languages and contexts.

Keywords : investigative journalism; journalistic practice; political power; democratic systems.
