Abstract

RABASA JOFRE, Valentina. Migratory legislation as a driver of the social perception of irregular foreigners in Mexico. Intersticios sociales [online]. 2023, n.26, pp.93-130.  Epub Oct 23, 2023. ISSN 2007-4964.

The main analysis objective is to understand the relationship between legal social processes (construction of the norm) and non-legal (migratory dynamics) in particular, how legal elements created in specific social contexts have influenced society's perception of the foreigner. Methodology proposes the conjugation of a historical-contextual analysis and a dogmatic. I conclude that the discrepancies between the law of de jure and de facto are inscribed in social perceptions built since the dawn of the Mexican nation founded on the idea of being a strong and homogeneous nation and guided mainly by immigration legislation.

Keywords : immigration; law and society; migration law; human rights.
