The Soconusco region has been the subject of study from the analytical lens of different disciplines, including history. The historiography of Chiapas allows us to notice the academic interest in its problems about land, production and power practices, from the economic perspective but also social and political. This work represents a first approach to the analysis of the memories around the Pan American Railway in Soconusco towns. The analytical proposal is based on memory concepts, with government memories and other archival documents being the primary sources of the research. The objective is to analyze the reports on changes that occurred in soconusco villages due to the introduction of the railway, identifying conflicts related to them.
