Abstract

GARCIA MONTOYA, Lizbeth. Criminogenic factors in young people and their integration into organized crime. Biolex [online]. 2021, vol.13, e225.  Epub Feb 21, 2022. ISSN 2007-5545.

One of the concerns that should be a priority for the government should be the welfare of children and young people, since the future of Mexico lies with them. However, on a daily basis through the media we see that a large number of crimes committed in our country are committed by young people. Taking this problem into account, the main objective of this work was to visualize some criminogenic factors that contribute to the exercise of criminal behaviors in young people in Mexico, mainly those related to organized crime, where young people are present today as members of criminal associations. To prepare this contribution, the following question was made: What makes a young person become a part of organized crime? To respond to it, an analytical methodology was used, based on the documentary technique, since through the reading of various scientific documents, it was possible to verify what were some factors that can drive the criminal career of young people, concluding that there is a series of mainly exogenous factors that together play an important role in the performance of such behavior, for example: family violence, poverty and peer groups in criminal environments; However, there is a factor that plays an interesting role, which in certain states acts as one of the prominent factors in the explanation of the involvement of young people in the activities of criminal groups, this being the pseudo-culture of drug trafficking as a way of life.

Keywords : Youth; Narcoculture; criminogenic factors and delinquency.
