Abstract

Objective:

Describe the communication as a dimensión in the study of the organizational enviroment and the categories that allow its use in public health.

Materials and methods:

A content analysis was performed of the review literature on the topic and worked with a total of 13 experts in the field of public health and health orientation.

Results:

As a result were defined for the communication dimension four categories through which describes how it behaves this dimension in the organizational enviroment, these are: stimulus to organizational development, contribution to the organizational culture, feedback process and communication styles.

Conclusions:

The organizational enviroment studies provide valuable information for the proper management of change, because it is oriented to the analysis of the people who make up the organization with a systemic approach. The authors consider that the definition of the categories in the communication dimension, which is put to the consideration in this work, contributes to validate the same for the study of organizational enviroment in public health, while allow direct studies and generate development in regard to the good interpersonal relations and the organization image.
