Abstract

The article presents the results of a study on the perception of teachers in the areas of education, humanities, social sciences, economics and administrative sciences, on the function of the University in the promotion of professional values and its role in teaching them. From the perspective that values training in the University is a fundamental component for the responsible exercise of citizenship. It carried out a study qualitative of type phenomenological-descriptive, during the second School cycle of 2015. The results confirm the importance of Values-based Education as part of the challenges yet to overcome in higher education, as well as the complex task of implement teaching strategies to lead the reflection, creativity and social responsibility in the classroom.
